Workplace Safety Audits: How to Improve Your Safety Program and Reduce Your Legal Risks

Safety Audits Webinar Recording

Conducting periodic safety audits in your workplace allows you to measure the success of your program in terms of both workplace safety and legal compliance. Audits also spotlight areas that may need improvement – from the details of procedures and documentation to the overall effectiveness of your organization’s safety culture. An improperly conducted safety audit, however, can be worse than none at all, giving you a false sense of security and opening you up to new legal risks. Order this detailed 90-minute webinar recording that will explain the practical aspects of an effective, successful audit.

You and your colleagues will learn:

  • The different types of audits (records, safety, health, environmental, ISO compliance) and the important aspects of each
  • Who should conduct your internal audits, and how to select the best method for your particular workplace
  • How and why you need to “privilege” your audit reports and related documents
  • The conflicting agendas of OSHA, MSHA, and EPA, and how these differences affect you
  • How to protect yourself in the event of tort litigation
  • Effective steps from consensus standards that address audit practices
  • What you need to know about document retention and destruction
  • What publicly traded companies must know about Sarbanes-Oxley

This webinar will be recorded on Tuesday, August 5, 2008
