Description:
REACH (which stands for Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of CHemicals) is the most complex chemical law affecting global industry. If you fail to meet the requirements, you will be barred from producing, importing, and marketing your products within the European Union.
REACH applies not only to chemical companies but also to all industry sectors using chemicals – including electronics and electrical equipment, automotive, aerospace, cosmetics, textiles, and paints, to name just a few. The entire supply chain, even small companies, is affected.
Although the law became effective in 2007, the important deadlines are just getting started. Pre-registration began in June 2008 and ended December 1, 2008, for existing chemicals; it continues for “new” substances. The complete registration process will be ongoing through 2018, depending on quantities.
