About Your Speakers:
David Lloyd is is Director of the Office of Brownfields Cleanup and Redevelopment of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, a position he has held since 2005. He brings a wealth of experience in overseeing EPA's rapidly expanding suite of grants, funding, incentive programs, web tools, partnerships and other supporting resources. Prior to his current position, he directed the Agency's Facilities Management and Services Division, and held positions in private legal practice and real estate development, which provided him with first-hand practical experience managing several major development projects, including developing sustainable facilities and redevelopment of properties with environmental conditions.
Jean McCreary, Esq., is a partner and former chair of the Energy & Environment practice of Nixon Peabody LLP, an international law firm. She has represented industries which have closed and are selling or redeveloping their former industrial facilities. She worked with EPA brownfields grant recipients to qualify for and implement their grants. She has represented brownfields redevelopers, funds, and insurers for redevelopment projects and has worked on several completed projects that utilized brownfield tax credits and other incentives from various states. Based on 25 years’ experience as an environmental attorney, she understands how to successfully address environmental conditions that can be barriers to redevelopment.
Howard Schlesinger is a founding principal of Meridian Development Partners, LLC, and a registered architect with a career devoted to improving the quality of the built environment. For more than a quarter century, he has developed extensive expertise in planning, design and project management, and now specializes in the restoration and redevelopment of under-utilized, former industrial and urban infill projects where his vision has helped them to transform their communities and promote positive economic change.
